HINTS FOR PREDICTION-2

6th House details.

In Jyotish, results are based on 12 Rasis, 12 houses and 9 Grahas. From the 12 houses, events of a native from birth to death can be judged. Each house signifies different things of life. From the 6th house debt, enemies, diseases, weapons, wounds, war, bad (cruel) karma, sin, fears can be judged.

In the beginning these houses are divided into 2 groups as Kendras and Upachayas. Kendras are 1, 4, 7, 10 houses. Panapharas are 2, 5, 8, 11 houses. 3, 6,9,12 are Apoklimas. If a planet is in Kendra then it will get 1 roop (unit), if it is in Panapara will get ½ roop and if it is in Apoklima it will get ¼ roop. From Lagna Upachayas are 3, 6, 10, 11 and the rest of the houses are Apachayas. Trik or Dusthanas are 3, 8, 12 from lagna . In this way 6th house is also known as Trik or dukhsthana (house of sadness).

As per Sage Garga in Balbhadra as to when to judge the 6th house as Upachaya or Dukhsthana is as given below:

Stanza from Hora Ratnam (1/95)

Meaning- 3, 6, 10, 11, houses are said to be upachayas. If these houses are aspected by papa Grahas or inimical planets, or own lord then it is not an upachaya anymore.

Meaning of upachaya is ‘going up’. This is the reason why upachaya is called a good place. Dukhsthana is bad or inauspicious place. Both are different.

Mantreshwara gave yogas related to upachaya and dukhsthana. When 6th house becomes upachaya then it becomes Astra (weapon) yoga else if it is a dukhsthana it will become a Harsh[1](delight) yoga. Both the results are said to be good.

Stanza from Phaladeepika (9/44)

Stanza from Phaladeepika (6/50)

If the planet owning the 6th house (1) not in weak state (asth) (2) if in own house or exalted or (3) in good placement and (4) if 6th house has benefic or aspect from a benefic planet then it will be Astra yoga. The native born in Astra yoga will defeat toughest enemies and will be very hard hearted, self-respectful. Native will have a strong body but will have marks due to boils, will be arguer and enjoys debates.

In this yoga, house and planet owning the house will fulfill all those rules, required for a house to give good results are necessary. According to Mantreshwara the good results of a house will come in the following conditions.

Stanza from Phaldeepika(15/1)

Meaning:

(1) the house which has its own lord or aspect from its own lord (if the lord is malefic then also it gives good results).

(2) if the house has naisargika benefic planet or aspects whichever house (naisargika benefic planets are Jupiter, Venus, waxing Moon or Mercury conjunct with any of these planets).

(3) if the house doesn’t have a malefic or aspect from malefic.

Then only the planets give good results and if not in debility, without strength (asth) or inimical house. If with anyone or two or all of these doshas (defects) then it will have strength or devoid totally.

In this way 6th lord gives results in 6th house.

Harsh Yoga

Stanza from Phaladeepika(1/51)

Stanza from Phaladeepika(1/13)

  • If the 6th house has malefics or aspect and
  • If the 6th lord is in dukhsthana (3, 8, 12) then it is called Harsh Yoga. Native will be wealthy, with strong body, enjoys comforts and will be happy, defeats enemies and will be afraid of committing sin, will be well known, will be dear to people. Will have happiness from wealth, sons, and friends. Will be famous and face will have glow.

These yogas are judged based on the Ascendant.

Aries Ascendant – 6th lord will be mercury and also owns 3rd house. If the mercury is not weak (asth) and if Virgo is not with malefic or any aspect from malefic and if mercury is in Gemini or Virgo it will be Astra yoga. The scholars who judge 6th house for uncle, in their view mercury in 6thhouse is not good. Mercury placed in Gemini is considered good.

Taurus Ascendant – 6th lord is Venus. Venus is also lagna lord. As lagna lord wherever Venus is, it gives auspicious results of that house. If in 6th house, it will give auspicious results of that 6thbecause 6th house is Libra, which is the moolatrikona of Venus. Parasara also said for Taurus and Scorpio ascendant 6th lord is not considered a flaw.

Gemini Ascendant – 6th lord is Mars in moolatrikona and aspects ascendant, so gives auspicious results of 6th house.

Cancer Ascendant – 6th lord Jupiter is also 9th lord. Sagittarius is also moolatrikona, so even in 6th house it gives auspicious results. For cancer ascendant Jupiter is considered very auspicious.

Leo Ascendant – 6th lord Saturn is also 7th lord. In 6th house as 7th lord Saturn doesn’t give good results of the 7th house completely. Because from 7th house Saturn is in 12th, Aquarius is the moolatrikona.

Virgo Ascendant – Saturn is also 5th lord. Being in 5th house it gives good results of 5th house and if in 6th house results of own house.

Libra Ascendant – Jupiter being 3rd and 6th lord is not auspicious. If in 6th house it gives goodresults.

Scorpio Ascendant – 6th lord is Mars being ascendant lord and in moolatrikona it gives good results as it aspects ascendant, which is good.

Sagittarius Ascendant – 6th lord is Venus. Most scholars think Venus being in 6th is not good. (From karaka house it is in 12th). Being in own house it is good.

Capricorn Ascendant – 6th lord is Mercury. Being in own house it is good, but for uncle it is bad, because it is in the karaka house.

Aquarius Ascendant – 6th is moon, results are based on waxing or waning moon. Waning moon is not good while waxing moon is good.

Pisces Ascendant – 6th lord is sun and in 6th gives good results.

Results based on the planet in 6th house

Sun – king like, minister, judge, famous successful politician, brave, kills enemies, strong, desirous, wealthy. If has auspicious aspect will have excellent administrative qualities, successful in all works.

Moon – if waning moon – short life, soft witted, disease related to stomach. If waxing long life.

Mars – blazing digestion, respectful, famous, beautiful body, well known, defeats foes, successful executive, wealthy.

Mercury – lazy, savage like speech, kills foes, interested in debates, gets angry easily, interruption in education.

Jupiter – kills foes, bad digestion, liver diseases, clever, one who does mantras.

Venus – poor, without foes, unhappy, relationship with lot of women, invective, without strength.

Saturn – eats immodestly, wealthy, kills enemies, treacherous, cavalier, desirous.

Rahu – noble, enjoys comforts, long life, disease in anus, suffering related to hips, suffers due toenemies.

Ketu – generous, good character, famous, attains good position, defeats enemies, gets what he wants.

Judging From Karaka

Each house has a karaka. For the 6th house, Mars is the karaka. Some scholars think both mars and saturn are the karakas. Judge from mars too.

House, house lord, karaka if strong, then the good results pertaining to that house will be seen.

Results of planets from dasa/anatardasa of a house.

  1. 6th lord
  2. Planet which aspects 6th lord
  3. Planet conjunct with 6th lord
  4. Planet in 6th house
  5. Planet which aspects 6th house
  6. Karaka for 6th house-mars
  7. 6th from moon

If the dasa lord and antardasa lord coincides with any of the above mentioned seven points, then effects the native, else effect will be limited.

In the middle of the house gives 100% results, if in the intersection of the house, zero results, measure between the two.

In the classical texts, for every house mid-point is considered from the longitude of ascendant. Every house has 30 degrees.

Results based on the strength of the planets.

If the 6th lord is strong, in the dasa of the planet native will defeat his enemies, will be without diseases, generous, wealthy.

Stanza from Phaladeepika (20/7)

If the 6th lord is without strength then in the dasa of the 6th lord, native will fear from thieves, diseases, wounds, gets ill fame and dishonor.

Stanza from Phaladeepika (20/21)

Strength means shadbal. Sun-6-5, moon-7, mars-5, mercuy-7, jupiter-6-5, venus-5-5, and Saturn 5 (roop) points will have strength.

If a house if gets 6 points is of strength.

If inauspicious planet is of without strength, then it gives more bad results. If it has strength, it gives less bad results.

Stanza from Phala Deepika (15/1).

Thus one has to observe more details of the 6H from other sources.

Saturn & 4th From It.

With Obeisance to Lord Ganapathi & Sage Bhrighu we start this huge task of revealing these secrets of the Founder of Vedic Astrology Sage Bhrighu. Astrologers have tried their level best to decode his system, which gives the most brilliant and snap shot predictions. What will be revealed here will be in a series of articles mostly containing Bhrighu methods and at times bringing in hidden meanings of other classics from a Bhrighu basis which have escaped the eyes of the best so far? It must be warned that though it will look easy to predict but verbatim usage without dhi (wisdom) & without combining it with other techniques is not advised though in our experiments we use it verbatim to make the parameters of success more difficult. This has been tested on several blind charts leading to stunning predictions. Indian Astrology is not for the light hearted or householder, so if you are still at that stage of your astrological journey where you read your own charts or those of your loved ones & get effected you are requested to ignore these methods as after practicing on 100 charts extreme harsh events open out too easily as compared to what takes normal astrologer an hour if he is lucky.

Indian Astrology is not for the light hearted or householder, so if you are still at that stage of your astrological journey where you read your own charts or those of your loved ones & get affected, you are requested to ignore these methods as after practicing on 100 charts extreme harsh events open out too easily as compared to what takes a normal astrologer an hour if he is lucky.

Bhrighu is the son of the Earth’s Creator, Lord Brahma, being born out of his mind as per Indian Mythology. Saral in Hindi language means Easy & Paddathi means Methodology, so in effect this can be translated as Bhrighu’s Easy Methodology Series.

Need For BSP (Bhrighu Saral Paddathi)

For several years we sent many high profile people to very popular Indian Astrologers. Many of these men reported back that the most important event of their lives was not predicted by these astrologers. We felt sad as we had sent them with high recommendations and these astrologers were our heroes & these contacts started deriding them. Then the search started & hence, in order to create better astrologers who can predict the ‘Biggest Events Of One’s Life’ with good success, these techniques will be enumerated here.

The Story

Years back, a dream had come wherein we meet a teacher and try to show him a chart. The teacher says no need to see the whole chart just tell me one planet and in which house it is situated without even telling me the sign or the Asc sign and I will predict 7 events of your life. If one masters the techniques presented here apart from having a great grasp on basics of astrology, ‘we can hit the ground thrice and say this with certainty that you can make phenomenal predictions of the Main Story Of A Chart’ provided you follow the rules of Jyotisha Purusha (Soul of Jyotish).

Bhrighu Saral Paddathi (BSP) – 1

‘Wherever Saturn sits he creates Ups & Down in the 4th house from it, in minimum any one signification of that house.’

  •  This becomes his Karmic House called as ‘Shani’s Previous Lives House.’
  • He will first create Up & then Down in the significations of the house or at times even the reverse, basically he will Create Fluctuations.’

In order to get the exact import of the above, Indians should remember it in Hindi ‘Shani apne chauthe ghar mein Uchh Neech Karega, us ghar ke kisi ek bath ko bigade ga ya sarvanash karega.’

Chart 1: Lord Rama

ShriRama

BSP-1 : Without getting into details of the Sun being in Pisces etc. as per a shloka & other details of the authenticity of the chart[1], let’s take this chart which, from time immemorial, is the accepted chart. We’ll concentrate on where Saturn is placed: it is in the 4th house. The 4th from it is the 7H of marriage which becomes ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’. His marriage life was filled with huge ups & downs and he had to let go of his wife Sita Mata on the basis of suspicion. Over there Mars the 5L of children is placed – he had to fight a battle with his own children. Mars is also the 10L of father & Karma: he had to fight a huge war with Ravana. 7H is the house of pada prapti/position, he was to sit on the throne of his Ayodhya Kingdom but instead got exiled for many years of roaming in the forest. When we learn astrology, everyone teaches us that Jupiter’s aspect will save the house it aspects. One can see that the aspect of exalted Jupiter along with Moon could not save this 7H & the planet Mars in it due to Saturn’s 4th influence. This shows that Saturn implements itself in the 4th from it and creates ups & downs in one’s life.

Chart 2: Indira Gandhi

IndiraGandhi

BSP-1:

Natal Saturn occupies the 1H, the 4th from it being ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’ – that is the 4H of mother, throne, grihast ashram (home life). You can see that she lost her mother at a young age, she lost her throne in a most shameful manner, her home life was destroyed – husband away and died early, daughter-in-law biggest enemy. The lord of her 4th House is a Venus, a woman & placed in the 6H of enemies with Rahu (secret enemies). Can you imagine the back stabbing she has faced in her life & her revolt against is what gave her the name Iron Lady Of India.

Chart 3: Jawaharlal Nehru

JawaharLalNehruBSP-1:

How do you predict the most important thing in this person’s life from his chart: that ‘his future generations will get destroyed’ (Iski Aane Wali peedeya barbadh hojayegi). Now see the 4th from Natal Saturn becomes ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’ which is the 5H of love affairs and children. We all know what the 5H of affairs stands in this chart.

Now see the 5 H is children: see his daughter’s life was only full of tensions & so was her end – Beant Singh shot her thrice using his side-arm and Satwant Singh fired twenty-two rounds into her using a Sten submachine gun.

Most important over there sitting in the Saturn’s Karmic House is Sun who is the natural significator for ‘Lineage’ & here 2L of family; we all know the Cursed Life & End of his whole Lineage. Saturn’s Karmic House makes all this reading simple & in a second.

Chart 4: Worm in Brain – Posted on Forum Msg 16809

This was posted on astro forums of a man with worm in brain since 5 years.

Pranam,

Sir I come across a chart his name is Sumit & his dob is 22/07/1979 t.o.b 14:47, Ludhiana (Pb). Sir he is in great financial problems these days. I apply dwisaptati sama dasa in his chart & find its starts in 16-12-1999. In 2000 he found worm in his brain. He took medicine for it for about 5 years. Is it all due to chaturdasi birth or curse on Guru. Will you please prescribe some remedies for this guy.

Women1

BSP-1: Saturn is in 10H with Rahu (remedy won’t be found) and the 4th from it is the 1H of brain which becomes ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’. Rahu is a snake; a worm also moves like a snake. Saturn spoils the 4H from it: the 1H of brain and also aspects its lord Mars by its 10th aspect.

Now the question to be asked is when would the problem occur, this is the tricky part. In our short experience of timing this method, we have found that at times when Tr Saturn aspects ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’ the event is triggered, which can happen many times in Saturn’s round of 30 years.

The mail mentions that in year 2000 native found a worm in his brain. If we assume it is after May 2000, then Tr Saturn is in Taurus activating the 1H – Saturn’s Karmic House and its lord Mars.

Chart 5: Coiled Birth Data from L.C, Croatia

Friend from Croatia writes: she is so talented for music, and she played violoncello, teachers from Russia, USA called her willing to pay for her scholarship, but no, she found some drug addict, aggressive man, got pregnant and has a daughter now. For one side she seems so talented but when you come to logic or reason – she seems dumb…. Like until some 11 or 12 years of life she was like grown person, then got into puberty, she ran from home when she was 16 years old, parents didn’t know a full year where she is or is she alive or not – she broke all connections with family.

CoiledBirthLC

BSP-1 : See Saturn is in the 1H and 4th from it is the 4H of ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’. Now what is 4H? It is the house of Griahast Ashram & Sukha Stana (happiness), you can see both are destroyed with lots of Ups & Downs in that area of one’s life.

Timing: The above mail says when she was 16 years (2002) old she ran away from home – then Tr Saturn was in the 7H of Ta aspecting the 4H which is our ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’ and the event got triggered.

Chart 6: Sarah, Duchess of York

She was married to Prince Andrew, on 7/23/1986. It was hoped that marriage to fiery Fergie would tame him but they played hard together and separately, and parted on 3/19/1992. An official palace announcement of their divorce came on 4/16/1996.

Duchess YorkSarahBSP-1: Saturn in the 3H destroys the 6H which is 4th from it thereby becoming ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’. Now here Moon, lord of 10H of sukha of marriage (happiness of marriage) is placed – right in the 6h is the house of divorce & separation: this is what we should not forget.

Timing: Now see the marriage ended on 19th Mar 1992 when Tr Saturn was in Capricorn, aspecting the Karmic House in her case (6H) & sukha of marriage Moon, and also 4th from Tr Sat will be the 7H of marriage, thereby bringing Ups and then Down in her marriage life.

Chart 7: Loni Anderson, American Actress

LoniAndersonShe had an early marriage to Salesman Bruce Hasselberg that lasted three months and produced a daughter, Deidra Hoffman, in 1965. Her second marriage was to actor Ross Bickell on 1/28/1974; the marriage lasted for seven years. After six years together, she married Burt Reynolds on 4/29/1988 which was her 3rd marriage. In January 1994, they entered a bitter divorce battle with custody and money fights. Reynolds in turn flaunted his extramarital affair and accused her of being a lousy mother. In her book, Anderson does not conceal the history of her own love life, including an affair with actor John Gavin and a romance that developed into a sex addiction for her former WKRP co-star Gary Sandy. In 2008 she married Bob Flick.

BSP-1: 4th from Saturn which is ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’ becomes the 2H of family life and Jupiter placed there is the 5L of love and 8L of scandals & sustenance of marriage. So ups and downs in these areas of life have been confessed. She had 4 marriages and 3 divorces; one can see that Saturn’s Karmic House is the sign Virgo, the natural sign of divorces.

Timing: During her second marriage divorce in 1981 Tr Saturn was in Virgo her Karmic House, during break up with Burt Reynolds on Jan 1994, Tr Saturn was in Aq in her 7H of marriage throwing 75% aspect on natal Saturn & full Nadi aspect on the 2H of Saturn’s Karmic House. For this Saturn’s Nadi aspect method, readers may kindly refer to C. S. Patel’s books Nadi & Navamsa, Sagar Publications.

Chart 8: Mafia Don, Louis Ferrante

LouisFerranteMr. Patheya wrote on forums ‘I have partial data about a person who has erstwhile been a notorious mafia don belonging to the infamous Gambino family crime network. As per the sources I have collected on him, it was by mid-90s that law and the FBI caught up with him and he was given a 10 years’ sentence.’ His time of birth is via birth certificate in his hand as per our personal email correspondence with him.

BSP-1: Natal Saturn is in the 7H and ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’ becomes the 10H of ones karma or profession. as you can see from above, there are Ups & Downs in those areas of his life.

Chart 9: Huge Family Wealth at stake

AB-DelhiThe native is a dedicated astrologer & businessman. His father’s partner has siphoned off 500 odd crores of their wealth ($100 million dollars).

BSP-1: Natal Saturn is in the 11H and ‘Saturn’s Karmic House’ would be the 2H which is the 4thfrom it. 2H is the house of family & wealth and here at stake is the family’s wealth. He has been advised to take a dry coconut (khopra), cut the top part, mix dry wheat flour & sugar & fill the dry coconut, then put the lid back on. Then to take this to the west of his house and, wherever he finds a tree, to dig a little & bury this coconut covering it with a very small layer of mud. The remedy is of Saturn & gotten by our mentor from a very old pandit whose predictions were most accurate & a pious man. This flour & sugar will be eaten by black ants who are represented by Saturn in Indian astrology. If the above ritual can not be done, then one should just feed sugar molecules to ants.

Something must be said here which has not been mentioned by others. Astrologers often say Saturn delivers one’s karma but which karma? No one says. From the above notes, if one knows the person of the above chart’s life, one can easily make out why Saturn is causing trouble, and whether a bad event is a result of bad karma from some previous birth or this present birth from the placement of Saturn & Saturn’s Karmic House but this must not be explained here as it can hurt a lot of people’s sentiments. What can be said though is how to guide yourself and your clients.

Guidance: Where you see Saturn placed in a chart, that house & it’s Karmic House, you must advise clients not to create any new bad karma on these 2 houses especially as if this is done, Tr Saturn will ignite in good time and this will be havoc time. For past karma one can resort to remedial measures but, in Saturn’s case, mantras work less effectively as compared to real karma of helping others & keeping a pure heart (note heart). Unfortunately, astrologers who sell mantras in their consultations do not reveal this to amateur astrologers & clients.

[1] The 18th Sargam of Balakandam of Shrimad Valmiki Ramayanam says ‘Ascendant in Cancer, Sun in Aries, Moon in Cancer, Mars in Capricorn, Mercury in Aries, Jupiter in Cancer, Venus in Pisces, Saturn in Libra, Rahu in Sagittarius, Ketu in Gemini.’

————————————————————————————-Jupiter & Its Karmic Houses.

Bhrighu Saral Paddathi (BSP) – 2

‘Wherever Jupiter sits he creates Ups & Down in the 10th & 6th from it, in minimum any one significations of that house.’

  • This becomes his Karmic House called as ‘Jupiter’s Previous Lives House’
  • He will first create Up & Down in the significations of the house which means fluctuations.
  • He will destroy atleast one thing of that house.

In order to get the exact import of the above, Indians should remember it in hindi ‘Guru apne dasve or chathe ghar mein Uchh Neech Karvayega, us ghar ke kisi ek bath ko bigade ga ya sarvanash karega.’

Chart 1: Maryada Purushottama  Shri Rama

ShriRamaBSP-2:

10th from Jup:

Jupiter is exalted in the 1st House, 10th from this Jupiter is the 10H & this becomes ‘Jupiter’s Karmic House’. 10th house is Rajya (kingdom) and father, for the sake of his father’s honor, Rama abandoned his claim to Kosala’s throne to serve an exile of fourteen years in the forest.

10H is the house of sukha of one’s marriage (happiness of one’s marriage being 4th from the 7th) and his marriage life was greatly spoilt with Sri Rama having to leave his wife on Agni Pariksha.

Just for scholars, this Gajakeshari Jup is no doubt powerful but it is 6L of dispute & 9L of father (or separation from father for those who take 10H as father) so when this Jup ignites the 10thfrom it what will happen, if he separates from his father his father dies, and that is what happened King Dasaratha died the very next day when Rama was separated from his kingdom (10H from Jupiter).

6th from Jup

Jup in Asc so th from Jupiter is the 6H of enemies & separation, those who know Ramayana know this was the main theme of his life that made him famous too. See 6H has Rahu, Rahu means demon (rakshah) and his enemy Ravana who abducted his wife was the King of Demons (Rakshash). As our postulate says 6th from Jupiter is destroyed, Shri Ram finally destroyed the Ravana King.

One is tempted to mention here for the sake of spiritual enthusiasts that Rama is made up of ‘Ra’ + ‘ama’ which means light coming from within, hence it is recommended by all that repetition of name of Shri Ram is enough to solve all problems of life as light is shown from within. In the interpretation of Adi Sankara‘s commentary, translated by Swami Tapasyananda of theRamakrishna Mission, Rama has two meanings: the Supreme Brahman who is the eternally blissful Spiritual Self in whom yogis delight or the One who out of his own will assumed the enchanting form of Rama, the son of Dasaratha.

Chart 2: Worm in Brain – Posted on Forum Msg 16809

This was posted on astro forums of a man with worm in brain since 5 years.

Pranam,

Sir I come across a chart his name is sumit & his dob is 22/07/1979 t.o.b 14:47, Ludhiana (Pb). Sir he is in great financial problems these days. I apply dwisaptati sama dasa in his chart & find its starts in 16-12-1999. In 2000 he found worm in his brain. He took medicine for it for about 5 years. Is it all due to chaturdasi birth or curse on Guru. Will you plz some remedies for this guy.

Women1BSP-2:

10th from Jupiter:

The 10th from Jupiter is the 6H of disease making it ‘Jupiters Karmic House’ & you can see that he has a disease, this happening in the sign of Aries which as per Natural Zodiac (Naisargik Kundali) is brain of the body, its lord Mars aspects the Asc which also denotes brain.

6th from Jupiter:

6th from Jup would be the 2H of wealth & family & prestige in native’s life. This would translate into the native facing financial difficulties as 2H is affected. You can see that the mail from the gentleman says he is in great financial problems.

Timing: The mail did not mention the month but just the year of discovery of worm in brain as 2000, one can notice that till June 2000 Tr Jupiter was in Aries which is our Jupiter’s Karmic House thereby triggering the event.

Chart 3: Coiled Birth Data from L.C

Friend from Croatia writes: Saturn in 1H – she is so talented for music, and she played violoncello, teachers from Russia, USA called her willing to pay for her scholarship, but, no, she found some drug addict, aggressive man, got pregnant and has daughter now.

CoiledBirthLCBSP-2:

10th from Jupiter

Jupiters Karmic House’ would be the 1H of one’s Full Life, you can see from the note that though she is talented her life is finished in a way, in the 1H Saturn the 3L of talents & skill sets & playing instruments (hands is 3H) is placed and when 5L of love Jupiter entered her life this was over thereby showing that Jupiter’s 10th aspect destroys the ‘Jupiters Karmic House’.

6th from Jupiter

This would be the 9H of bhagya (prosperity) & marriage, there AL (Emerged Self) & GL (Name Fame) is placed and its lord Moon is placed in the 2H of family, which means this Jupiter will destroy the life of this family and subsequent name fame money she would have achieved if she had gone to USA with paid scholarship. Now see what friend wrote in first place ‘parents didn’t know a full year where she is or is she alive or not – she broke all connections with family’.

Now use Bhrighu Chakra Paddathi as outlined in Vol 3 Aug 2008 issue, friend writes 16th year, we wrote back and double checked if it happened before she finished her 16th year she said yes, rotate the Bhrighu Chakra (wheel) and 16th year would be 4th House where Jupiter is placed, see Bhrighu Saral Paddathi (BSP-2) matches with BCP method also here.

Timing: In her 16th year that is Oct 2001 to Oct 2002 Tr Jupiter was in Gemini, use BCP-2, 6th from it is 1H of ‘Natal Jupiter’s Karmic House’ and 10th from Tr Jup is 5H of love, she fell in love and her whole life down the drain.

Chart 4: Sarah, Duchess of York

She was married to Prince Andrew, on 7/23/1986. It was hoped that marriage to fiery Fergie would tame him but they played hard together and separately, and parted on 3/19/1992. An official palace announcement of their divorce came on 4/16/1996.

Duchess YorkSarahBSP-2:

10th from Jup

‘Jupiters Karmic House’ would become the 11H of Leo where Venus (love) is placed. Leo is natural sign of affairs & relationships (remember King-Leo will always have many wives or a concubine) where Venus the 8L of sustenance of marriage and scandals is placed, so Natal Jupiter destroys the sustenance of marriage and creates scandal.

6th from Jupiter

This would be the 7H of marriage whose lord has gone with Mer, someone would have been promiscuous.

Timing:

She separated from Prince Andrew on 19th Mar 1992, now on that day Tr Jup was on 13 Leo close to her natal Venus in sign of Leo which is our ‘Jupiter’s Karmic House’ & 6th from Tr Jup is 4thhouse of Home which got destroyed (Grihast Ashram Jo Tuta gaya).

Wisdom (Dhi): One needs to interpret the rules not verbatim that Jupiter in 2H will create break in marriage, we have charts with Jup in 2H and there has been a lot of friction in marriage but at the same time the natives fight a lot with others – remember 7h is house of relationships with others too & 2nd child etc etc.

Chart 5: Loni Anderson

BSP-2:

10th from Jupiter:

Natal Jup in 2H so Jupiters Karmic House becomes 11H of affection & affairs of your husband. She had 4 marriages and 3 divorces, one can see that in Jupiter’s Karmic House there is 7L Saturn & Venus & Rahu & Moon, she had 4 marriages & known to us in one of them promiscuity was an issue (11H).

6th from Jupiter

Would be 7H of marriage, no doubt it got destroyed.

Timing: During her second marriage divorce in 1981 Tr Jupiter was on natal Jupiter thereby activating Jupiters Karmic Houses & in Jan 1994 with the much scandalized break up with Burt Reynold Tr Jupiter was in 3H of Libra and 6th from it is the 8H of scandals & sustenance of marriage & 10th from it is 12H of secret affairs – all came out.

Chart 6: Huge Family Wealth at Stake

AB-DelhiThe native is dedicated astrologer & businessman, his father’s partner has siphoned off 500 odd crores of their wealth ($100 million dollars).

BSP-2:

10th from Jupiter

‘Jupiter’s Karmic House’ would be the 2H of family & wealth – is that not effected/destroyed, lord of which Moon goes into 10H of father, it is fathers wealth.

6th from Jupiter

It would be again 10H of profession where 2L of familys wealth is placed along with Mars the 6L of service, he works in his fathers business and has to see the partner daily, that man who has cheated his family so much & is a relative (6H of relatives).

Chart 7: Christopher Reeve

ChristopherReeve10th from Jup

Is 7H of marriage and there Rahu is placed, after he had accident what marriage happiness do u think the person would have had, there Rahu the 8L of chronic diseases and chronic accidents is placed, that is effected by this retro Jupiter activating its Karmic House.

Now the worst part of Indian astrology & we hate revealing it, if he activates his 7H of marriage then rahu the 8L of Chronic accidents will happen, see he got married in 1992 and terrible accident in 1995 on 27th May.

6th from Jup

Will be the 3H of movement, travel, sports (karma of sports -6H) and supplement house of 6H of accidents, there 3 planets placed in the 6th sign of virgo, the natural badhak house, while doing competition he had this non fatal yet crippling accident. See health karaka and lord of A6 Sun is placed in the 3H which is being damaged by Jupiter, incidentally the dasa was of Sun-Jup on 27th May 1995, this happened within 5 days of starting of Jupiter antar, did not Jupiter deliver the promise of Jupiters Karmic House.

Periods of Happiness & Unhappiness.

Great Happiness will come to pass in the Dasa or Sub-Periods of:

1. Navamsa(D9) dispositor of Lagan Lord

2. Planet posted in the sign together with the 7th Lord.

3. Navamsa(D9)  dispositor of 5th Lord. We can also check for 9th lord Navamsa dispositor.

4. Dasa of the star lord of Lagan(Asc) gives rise in career.

5. Dasa of the star lord of Yogakaraka will also give rise in career.

Expect Problems in the following periods:

1. Navamsa dispositor of Saturn

2. Navamsa dispositor of Mandi

3. Navamsa dispostor  of  the planet in whose sign the 8th lord is placed.

Weakest of the above three will destroy the native happiness.

Also, check for these periods :

1. Dasa of star lord of natal Ketu may give misfortunes.

Judicious use of the above technique should be done. Sages have given us hint and they had faith that only the intelligent or the one destined to use the particular rule will be able to decipher it.  I believe that every rule written in Classics is true, it is the astrologer who is not able to decipher or use it correctly. They were not fools to right such rules.

Of course other rules may apply when you apply these rules.

Kuja Dosha.

Kuja Dosha is also known by the following names:

  1. Kuja Dosha,
  2. Mangli Dosha,
  3. Manglik Dosha,
  4. Bhaum Dosha,
  5. Mars Dosha

In this article all such references have been changed to Kuja Dosha in line with the title of the article so as to avoid any confusion in the minds of relatively inexperienced readers. Similarly, a person with Kuja Dosha in the natal chart is known as a Manglik – Love Tandon, SA Copy Editor]

Happiness or unhappiness in married life depends on three factors – Mutual understanding of the bride and the groom, matching Natal Charts and marriage conducted in rectified strong Lagna. In this article, the important aspects of Kuja Dosha are discussed, while matching the horoscopes.

The way Kuja Dosha is understood nowadays, has its roots in “Jatak Parijat”, as per sloka given under matching the horoscopes of the bride and the groom, stated below.

That is, in the horoscope of the groom, if Mars is situated in 2nd, 12th, 7th, 4th or 8th houses from Lagna, indicates destruction of his wife. Similarly, in the bride’s horoscope, if Mars is in these houses, indicates destruction of her husband. This combination is known as Kuja Dosha or Manglik Dosha.

Parashar in the chapter on female horoscopes, states:

लग्ने व्यये सुखे वापि सप्तमे चाष्टमे कुजे

शुभ द्रुग् योग हीने च पतिं हन्ति न संशयः || (बृ.पा. – ८१ / ४७)

This means, in the horoscope of the bride, if Mars is in Lagna, 12th, 4th, 7th or 8th house and is not aspected or conjoined by natural benefics , it will destroy her husband. The ill effects vanish if conjoined or aspected by the combination of Jupiter, Venus and Mercury (with benefics) and Waxing Moon. This concept has been forgotten nowadays and instead the following is popular and referred:

लग्ने व्यये च पाताले जामित्रे चाऽष्टमे कुजे

कन्या भर्तृ विनाशाय वरः कन्या विनाशकृत || ( केरल शास्त्र )

In the horoscope of the bride, if Mars is situated in 1st, 12th, 4th, 7th or 8th house, she will destroy her husband and if this is the case in the groom’s horoscope, he will destroy the wife.

Jataka Parijata has the following to say about Kuja Dosha getting annulled, when a Manglik bride and a Manglik groom get married:

द्यून कुटुम्ब गतौ यदि पापौ दार वियोगज दुःख करौ तौ

तादृश योगज दार युतेश्चेज्जीवति पुत्र धनादि युतश्च || (जातक पारिजात – १४ /३६)

Meaning, if the Papa Grahas (Malefics) are in the 2nd or 7th house in the Groom’s horoscope, the individual will suffer grief due to the death of his wife. But if he gets married to a bride who has a similar yoga in her horoscope, he will be prosperous and will be bestowed with wealth, children etc., and live with his wife.

Mantreshwar has said somewhat similar to the above statement:

भार्या नाशस्त्वशुभ सहितौ वीक्षितौ वार्थ कामौ, तत्र प्राहुस्त्वशुभ फलदां क्रूर दृष्टिं   विषेशात् |

एवं पत्न्या अपि सति मदे चाष्टमे वास्ति दोषः सौम्येर्दृष्टे सति शुभयुते दंपतौ भाग्यवन्तौ ||           (फ. दी. – १० /७ )

If the 2nd and 7th house has Malefics or is aspected by Malefics, it results in the destruction of the wife. A cruel aspect is specially inauspicious. Similarly in the bride’s horoscope, if there are Malefics in the 7th , 8th or in both or Malefics aspect these houses , then it will be unfortunate for the husband, but if both of these houses have benefics or aspected by benefics , then both husband and wife will be fortunate.

Second house from Lagna is the House of Family. Wife is the key central pillar of the family. Seventh house is the house of spouse, eighth house is for longevity and a house of bliss or fortune in a woman’s horoscope, and the 12th house is for marital pleasures. Malefics in these houses (Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu and Sun) reduce the happiness of these houses.

Kuja Dosha is analyzed from all the three – Lagna, Moon Lagna and Karak Venus. If Venus is amidst Malefics or if Malefics are posited in the 4th, 8th and 12th house from Venus or if Venus is conjoined or aspected by Malefics, it results in the death of the wife.

As stated in Phala Deepika: stanza – 10 /1:

“सिताद् व्यय सुखाष्टगैः खर खगैर सन्मध्यगे सितोप्यथ शुभेतरेक्षिते च जाया वधः|”-(फल दीपिका-१०/१)

If Malefics (Mars, Venus, Rahu, Ketu, Sun) are posited in the 1st, 2nd, 4th 7th 8th and 12th houses from Lagna, Moon and Venus, it is called Kuja Dosha.

Remedy

There are more than hundred remedial measures to the malefic effects of Kuja, but most of them are unacceptable. Many of these provide remedies at the gross level. Some of the remedies, are partially acceptable. Some examples are given below.

That is, if the horoscope of bride or groom has Kuja Dosha and if it is matched with a horoscope having in any one of these houses, Saturn or other Malefics, then Kuja Dosha gets annulled or cancelled. At the gross level, this is right. To analyze the level or strength of the Dosha, we need to see their rasi equivalence in both horoscopes. For example, if Saturn is in a debilitation rasi while Mars is in neutral, then the Dosha does not get cancelled because the effect of debilitation rasi is 100% and the effect of neutral rasi is only 60%. Only when both are in equivalent dignity or status, the condition of “Taadrusho” or equivalence gets fulfilled.

Kuja Dosha is destroyed if Mars is in Aries Lagna, in 12th in Sagittarius, in 4th in Scorpio, in 7th in Taurus and in 8th in Aquarius. This is also partially correct. Mars in Aquarius and Taurus do not cancel or nullify the Dosha, but Aries and Scorpio being its own houses and Sagittarius –a friendly house would destroy the Dosha.

That is, a strong Jupiter or Venus in Lagna or 7th house would destroy the Kuja Dosha and this is 100% true. But retrograde, debilitated, combust Mars or Mars in enemy’s house-will not give Kuja Dosha. This is difficult to accept. Retrograde planet will necessarily be strong but a debilitated planet or a planet in enemy’s house will increase the Dosha. A weak planet generally gives inauspicious effects.

That is, if there are benefics in Kendra or Trikona, Malefics in the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses and lord of the 7th house in 7th, then there will be no Kuja Dosha. Lord of 7th house being in 7th becomes strong but to what extent a benefic planet in Kendra or Trikona and malefic planets in 3rd, 6th and 11th houses can destroy the Dosha is debatable and there is no single opinion. We may have to examine the rasi positions of Mars and other planets as well.

The remedial measures for Kuja Dosha stem from the following root principles:

  1. If Mars is in Exaltation, own house or friendly house, Kuja Dosha is nullified.
  2. If Mars is debilitated or in enemy house but in exaltation in Navamsa or in friendly Navamsa or in own Navamsa- then also – Dosha is annulled.

[SA Copy Editors Note: The translation was not given by the author but attempted by SA Team member as follows:

If Mars is in Own House or in Exaltation either in Rasi or Navamsa-there is no Kuja Dosha. If Mars is in Cancer or in Leo—there is no Kuja Dosha.]

Arithmetical Evaluation Of Kuja Dosha:

If there is Kuja Dosha in the horoscopes of both the bride and the groom, it would be easy to compare Kuja Dosha if a numerical value can be derived. In this, the firstly step is to find out the rasi position of the planet and its effect in percentage terms; secondly, the house effect of that planet in percentage terms is determined. Then these percentage effects are multiplied together and divided by 100 to give us the extent of Kuja Dosha. If the ratio of the Dosha is 1: 1.5 for the two horoscopes, then it is considered as matched otherwise it is not.

Rasi Position of Planet and Extent of its Good Effect:

According to Varahamihira, in Exaltation a planet gives full auspicious results, if in Trikona, gives one-fourth less, if in its own Rasi gives half, in friend’s Rasi gives one-fourth, in enemy’s Rasi gives very little and in debilitation or combustion gives nil auspicious results. (Brihat Jataka – 20 /11.)

According to Bhattotpala, the extent of inauspicious results will be opposite of this. The extent of inauspicious results is:

  • In debilitation or combustion –it will be 100%
  • In enemy’s house will be 75%
  • In neutral Rasi it is 60%
  • In friendly Rasi it is 50%
  • In own Rasi it is 25%
  • In MoolTrikona it is 12%
  • In Exaltation it is zero or nil.

Bhava Or House Effects Of Planets

Mantreshwar has this to say:

उदयक्षांश स्फुट तुल्यांशे निवसन पूर्ण फलमाधते |

भाव समांशा संस्था भाव फलं पूर्णमेव कलयन्ति |

न्यूनाधिकांश वशतः फलवृद्धिहृसिता वाच्या || ( फल दीपिका – ८ /३४ – ३५)

That is, the Longitude of the Ascendant is the middle point of the house. 100% effect is given by a planet if it is in that longitude.

Effects related to that house will reduce in proportion to its distance from the middle point.

Houses are as per Sama Bhava Siddhanta or Equal House Theory. The first half and second half of a house will be equal – 15 – 15 degrees each. Planet at the middle of the house gives 100 % result whereas at either ends, it is nil.

The Longitudes of Moon and Venus are also considered as the middle point of the house and the value of the effects are seen as per Equal House Theory.

Let us understand this clearly with an example:

(a) Husband:

Date of birth – 13th January, 1928.

Time of birth – morning – 7.12 am

Place of birth – latitude – 29 deg, 9 min. North and longitude – 77 deg, 37 min East

[SA Copy Editors Note: The North and East in Latitude and Longitude is not given explicitly in the original text]

Chitra Ayanamsa – 22 deg, 51min 7 sec.

Nirayana Lagna – 8s – 27 deg, 9 min

Kuja-1Husband

Planets – clear positions:

Sun – 8s-28°43’36”;   Moon – 5s-8°21’21”;   Mercury – 9s-1°16’24”;   Saturn – 7s-21°55’29”

Mars – 8s-2°42’43”;   Jupiter – 11s-5°25’43”; Venus – 7s-17°52’18”;   Rahu – 1s-24°7’55”;

Ketu – 7s-24°7’55”

From the Birth Lagna: Sun and Mars are in first house, Saturn and Ketu in 12th house. Sun and Mars being in friendly house, would restrict the Kuja Dosha ill- effects to 50%. Saturn in enemy’s house would give 75 % ill-effects; Ketu is in exaltation position thereby giving no ill-effects.

Sun’s Bhava effect is 90%, Mars and Saturn both give 65 %. Sun’s Kuja Dosha effect is 45(50*90/100), that of Mars is 32.5(50*65/100) and that of Saturn is 49(75*65/100). Total ill-effect of all these three planets is 136.5.

From Moon Lagna: Mars is in 4th in friendly house, Ketu is exalted. Mars Bhava result is 60%, the Total Kuja Dosha is only 30.

From Venus: Saturn, Mercury and Ketu are in 1st house, Sun in 2nd, and Rahu in 7th house. Since Rahu and Ketu are in exaltation positions, there is no ill-effect. Saturn in enemy’s house would give 75% ill-effects, Sun and Mercury would give 50% ill-effect each.

Saturn’s Bhava effect being 73%, the Kuja Dosha effect is 55. Mars Bhava effect being 90%, Kuja Dosha effect is 0.5, Sun’s Bhava effect being 27%, Kuja Dosha effect is 13.5. The sum of the three Kuja Dosha effect is 69.

Total Kuja Dosha due to Lagna, Venus, Moon will be 225.5.

(b) Wife:

   Date of birth12th November 1934.

Time of birth – 4:06 am (before sunrise)

Place of birth – Latitude 28 deg N 13 min

Longitude 77 deg E 50 min.

[SA Copy Editors Note: The North and East in Latitude and Longitude is not given explicitly in the original text. Charts prepared by Jhora may be slightly different]

Chitra ayanamsa – 22 deg 56 min 51 sec.

Nirayana Lagna – 5: 22deg 14 min

Kuja-2

Planets – clear positions:

Sun – 6s-25°54’47”;   Moon – 8s-27°24’26”;   Mercury – 6s-10°14’34”;

Saturn – 9s-28°46’52”;   Mars   – 4s-21°20’34”;   Jupiter – 6s-13°57’38”;

Venus – 6s-24°09’56”;   Rahu – 9s-11°56’57”;   Ketu – 3s-11°56’57”.

From the birth Lagna – Sun in 2nd house, Mars in 12th house cause Kuja Dosha. Sun in enemy’s house yields 75% ill-effect, Mars in friendly house gives 50 % ill-effect. Sun’s Bhava effect gives 76% and Kuja Dosha effect is 57. Mars’s Bhava effect has 13% effect and Kuja Dosha effect will be 56.5. Together the contribution is 103.5.

From Moon’s Lagna: Rahu is in friendly sign in 1st house, Saturn in 2nd and Ketu in 7th. Rahu’s Bhava Effect gives 4%, Kuja Dosha is 2. Saturn gives 91% effect and Kuja Dosha is 23. Put together the Kuja Dosha will be 25.

From Venus Lagna – Sun is in 1st house and in enemy’s house, Saturn in his own 4th house and Rahu is in friendly house. Sun’s Bhava effect is 88% and Kuja Dosha is 66. Saturn’s Bhava effect is 70% and Kuja Dosha is 18. Rahu’s Bhava effect is 20% and Kuja Dosha is 10 (Saptarishi Note: The original text shows 101 but 10 seems to be correct and used here). Total contribution of these three planets towards Kuja Dosha is 94.

Total contribution of Lagna, Moon and Venus towards Kuja Dosha will be 222.5.

Husband’s total = 225.5

Wife’s total = 222.5.

Kuja Dosha in both of them is nearly equal.

Effects of Saturn on Construction of Houses.

Saturn is the controller of construction of houses in human life. When there are ascending lines from the line of Saturn (Fate line), the houses will be constructed and there will be addition of property or items related to Saturn and on the contrary, if there are descending lines from the line of Saturn, the constructed houses will be lost or demolished. Saturn plays an important role in construction of houses in relation to its placement in natal chart or its placement in hand palm (in various houses) according to Astro –Palmistry.

So, it is advisable to keep in mind, while constructing a house, Saturn’s influence on native as per chart given below for each house. From the day when foundation of a house is laid, effects will appear or felt by native sometimes immediately or after 3 or 18 years definitely, which may be negative or positive according to the position of Saturn.

Saturn in the 1H

Native will get negative results (Crow Line influence – a negative sign of Saturn’s influence marked on human palm) such as misery, poverty and losses in all spheres, when Saturn is adverse as per rules of LAL KITAB, or native is making it adverse by his own behavior. If Saturn is benefic (Houses No. 7 and 10 are blank), it will give excellent results. However, construction of house before the age of 39 years should be avoided; construction of house after 39 years of age will be beneficial.

Saturn-1

Signs and Lines on Palm: When sign of Sun (Star sign) is found on mount of Saturn (H. No. 01), towards the mount of Sun or a line from mount of Saturn goes into the mount of Sun.

Saturn in the 2H

As and when any type of house is constructed, it will always be beneficial.

Saturn-2

Timing Of Job.

There are many tools of analysis described in ancient astrological literature. One such tool is Dasa System. Out of 42 Dasa Systems mentioned by Parasara, Vimshottari Dasa is mostly used. This Dasa System supplemented with the transit of Jupiter and Saturn in the natal Sarvastakavarga is used for timing any event in human life.

Service is considered from the Artha Trikona (the 2nd, the 6th and the 10th houses) of Birth Ascendant and the Moon Sign. Of these, the 10th house is most important as it refers to occupation, profession, means of livelihood and dignity. Service and allied events may fructify in the Dasa of following planets:

  • Lords of the Artha Trikona;
  • Planets posited in the Artha Trikona;
  • Planets aspecting the Artha Trikona;
  • Planets aspecting or associating with the lords of Artha Trikona; and
  • Planets forming special yogas.

These planets may influence the above planets either as lords of major period (Maha Dasa) or lords of sub – periods / sub – sub periods, etc.

The sub – period of planets capable of influencing the 10th house indicate excellent results pertaining to the 10th house provided both are in harmonious position in relation to each other.

Planets Forming Special Yogas:

The four houses, viz., 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th counted from the Ascendant are termed as kendras (Quadrants) and the two house, viz., 5th and 9th as Trikonas (Trines). The lords of these six houses are termed as Karakas as per dictum.

and give good results in their Dasa period.

If a planet simultaneously owns a Kendra and a Kona he becomes Yogakaraka for that ascendant and indicates excellent results in his Dasa (Period). Three planets i.e. Mars, Venus and Saturn become Yogakaraka. Mars is yogakaraka for Cancer and Leo ascendants; Venus for Capricorn and Aquarius ascendants; and Saturn for Taurus and Libra ascendants.

Rahu and Ketu as Yogakaraka:

Each of them becomes yogakaraka if

  • posited in a Kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, & 10th house) and combined with or aspected by a Trinal Lord (Lord of 5th or 9th house); or
  • posited in a Trikona (5th or 9th house) and combined with or aspected by a Kendra Lord.

Special Yogas:

These yogas are generated when the lord of a Kendra is related to the lord of a Trikona in any one of the following four ways:

  • In each other’s house; or they exchange their houses;
  • They associate in a house; or
  • Mutual aspect (i.e. both aspect each other); and
  • One side aspect. This is possible in the case of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn who have special aspects. Mars aspects 4th and 8th sign; Jupiter, 5th and 9th sign; and Saturn, 3rd and 10th

Special yogas are to be identified in natal horoscope. Some of these yogas become ineffective if the Karaka planets are blemished on account of their lordship of bad houses. It is the Dasa period of planets forming effective yogas which indicate service and rise in career. These effective yogas are given in the following table:

Transit Effects:

The Dasa effects are supplemented with the effects of transiting planets. The transits of Jupiter and Saturn are of primary importance. Their transit in a house having more than 25 benefic dots in the Sarvastaka Varga indicates good results. The timing of the event can be further narrowed down by using the 8 Kakshya division and Parasarashtakavarga.

Now, take an example:-

Example – 1

Date of Birth        –        13.01.1928

Ascendant            –        Sagittarius (26˚.56’.15”)

TimingOfJob-1TimingOfJob-0Lord of 2nd is Saturn, 6th is Venus, and 10th is Mercury. From the Moon sign 2nd lord is Venus, 6thlord is Saturn and 10th lord is Mercury. The 10th lord is Mercury in both the cases. The other two lords are Venus and Saturn. Mercury is posited in the 2nd, Rahu in the 6th and the Moon in the 10th. Mercury is aspected by Saturn, Jupiter aspects the Moon, Venus and Saturn. Three special yogas are formed by Mars & Jupiter, Sun & Jupiter and Mercury & Saturn.

Rahu situated in the 6th is aspected by its sign dispositor Venus. From the Moon sign, Rahu is situated in a Trikona and aspected by its sign dispositor. So Rahu becomes Yogakaraka and indicates excellent results. Rahu is in 9th from the 10th house and indicates good results.

The native completed his education in the sub – period of Saturn of Rahu major period. In the sub – period of Mercury in Rahu major period he got employment and ultimately joined the Central Government in February, 1955. At that time Jupiter was transiting in Gemini with 27 benefic dots and Saturn in Libra with 37 benefic dots in the Sarvastaka Varga. Both these houses have more than optimum points.

Promotion: This is mainly judged from the 11th house. The 11th house of natal horoscope falls in Libra and its lord is Venus. The 11th house from the 10th (Profession or Services?) falls in Cancer and its lord is the Moon. Thus, Venus and the Moon are primary determinants. Lords of Dharma Trikona (1st, 5th and 9th) are secondary determinants. The lord of the first is Jupiter, fifth lord is Mars, and the ninth lord is the Sun. These three, viz., Jupiter, Mars, and the Sun also indicate promotion.

The native was promoted in Venus sub – period of Rahu Dasa in September, 1958. Venus is the lord of the 11th house in the natal chart. In transit, Jupiter was in Libra with 37 benefic points and Saturn in Scorpio with 24 points.

(Book 2, V2647)

16 Rare Secrets of Varga Charts

Mars being in 6th bhava would be aspecting the ascendant and hence his 6th position is always good. Mercury in 8th bhava is always beneficial.
In any varga chart planets in kendras (1, 4, 7, 10 bhavas) and konas (1,5,9 bhavas) are beneficial. That means they give good results to the life aspect represented by that varga. If they are in 3rd, 6th, 8th, 12th bhavas they give malefic results.
Even if planets are in bad positions in bhava chart, if they are in good positions in varga chart from the ascendant they give benefic results to that varga. Even if the planets are strong in bhava chart, if they are placed in bad positions in varga chart they would not give benefic results and they will give bad results to the life aspect of that particular varga chart. The planets who are benefic both in bhava chart and varga charts would give very good results. Even if planets are strong and placed in bad places, if they are in good places in varga charts they give mostly good results only. Even if planets are strong and placed in good positions in bhava chart, if they are in bad places in varga charts they will give bad effects only to the life aspects represented by those varga charts. If planets are asthangatha (nearest to sun) or grahayuddh parajita ( defeated in war) in bhava chart, even if they are in good places in vargas they will not give good results and such planets if they are in bad places in vargas they will give much more bad results.
In any varga chart the planet which is neechabhanga (debilitation cancelled) and placed in good position will give good effects.
Vargottam (same position in rashi & navamsha), Uccha ( exaltation), own house, Digbala (strength) will apply in all varga charts. Exaltation in 3, 6, 8, 12 will not be useful.
Mahayogas in varga charts will give good results. Aspect of natural malefic planets is bad. Aspect of natural benefic planets is good. Even if, planets are in bad places if aspected by strong ]upiter it will be good and in this aspect of neecha (debilitated) Jupiter will not be useful.
The placement of lordship of bhavas in varga charts is not to be considered. The placement of bhava lords in bhava chart only is to be taken. In varga charts, the placement of lord of lagna (ascendant) in that varga chart is important.
In varga charts, even if debilitated planets are in good places, if they are not neechabhanga (debilitated cancelled) they will not give good results.
It will be good if in every varga chart if lagna (ascendant) is vargottam (same sign in rashi & navamsha) and if its lord is in benefic position. If not so but in malefic positions, then the resultant good effects will be felt in dreams only. If lagna and lagna lord are vargottam then it will be very good. The position of lagna lord in good places is important.

——————————————————————————————-

ASTRO-RULES.

An actor or a performer is highly creative and therefore combination c), d), e) are the one which they have in majority of planets. As discussed above the actors get name and fame because they have combination 311/ 310,11 and as they have house number 5 also there in the combinations, they are loved by people at large.

Now if we see the above combinations with personal life point of view we find that 5,8 – physical love/5,12 – physical love/ 5,8,12 – scandalous love, combinations are also there. Henceforth actors/ stars fell into love more often. This is also why we find gossips on electronic and print media.

New Rules IN PALMISTRY Established..

Some of the latest studies shows that finger length can tell us many things about our personality. The length of the fingers can tell either you are straight or homosexual, aggressive or passive personality. It can also show us our capabilities and our gift for music or writing etc.

People with longer ring finger than the index finger are very beautiful in appearance and very charming. But also they are also more aggressive and decisive. Most of this people are engineers, soldiers and they know how to make more money.

People who have shorter ring fingers than the index fingers are more arrogant and they have more self-confidence. They enjoy in their free time and do not like any disruption in that period. They are always searching for attention from others.

People with same length of the ring finger and index finger are persons that love peace. They don’t like any type of conflict. They care about their partners but they also care about other people. In fact they try to get along with everybody. Their characteristic is also well organization.

In men, the index finger is usually shorter than the ring finger. In women, this fingers are usually the same length.

There are also many other researches made on the universities, that link the length of those two fingers with the autism. Also researches that finger lengths may predict cancer.

Will you take this seriously or not, depends on you. However these are facts from research done by scientists, professors, who have concrete evidence on their studies.

This person is larger than life and tends to amplify everything so that it seems bigger than it really it. when this person is in a good mood it seems as though the world is filled with light. However, if you notice that this person is in a bad mood for any reason it is a good idea to leave them alone until their mood improves.

HOROSCOPE  OF BIG B

Big B is as big as Indian Film Industry. Hardly You will find anyone who is not in love with Amitabh Bachchan film. More than that, he gained sky high respect from every corner of society. So what made him so popular, what gave him success, wealth, popularity stardom at old age as well as Respect.
Horoscope of Amitabh Bachchan doesnt give ordinary look, in fact gives such a negative approach to mind but for all the astrologers and astrology learners its a chart of contradictory,
As his 4 planets are in 8th house of stress, chaos, sudden change, death, transformation etc.
Ascendant lord Retrograde
Jupiter is exalted yet in 0 degree.
Mars & Mercury highly combust
Rahu Ketu in 1-7 axis.
Lastly Venus being yoga karak debilitated

So except Merc being Exalted nothing seems to be good in his chart. So as usual we have to go till Nakshatra level to find the reason behind his name & fame.

Yearly Life : Amitabh Bachchan was born with Moon in Libra in Swati Nakshatra with Rahu- Jup Mahadasha going on. He did his Schooling in Naital Boarding school, where he met our Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. So that Rahu sitting in 7th aspecting 1st house took him away from home and family. His entire higher education was done in Jupiter Mahadasha and Jupiter is exalted and in Dashavarga table getting highest point. No wonder his exalted Jupiter gave him double Master of Arts degree.

As Jupiter is the lord of finance house 2nd also the house of gain 11th he didnt have to sit idle at home seeking for job, Jupiter being in Jupiter nakshatra Punarvasu gave him a decent job in Kolkata where he could even afford 2nd hand Fiat car for him. After all its 2nd lord exalted in house of service/job 6th. As his higher education house lord 9th is debiliated also 12th away from it’s own sign, couldn’t allow him to earn using his education or degree for longer days. During Jup – Mars Dasha he decided to leave his job for his never ending love for acting.Antardasha lord Mars is also 3rd house lord which is actually 6th away from 10th house mostly gives the tendency to change or leave job for independent work.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan :
••His natural talent house 5th lord Mercury is exalted aspecting the house of finance 2nd.
••House of success 11th lord Jupiter is also exalted.
••Yoga Karak Venus also the planet for creativity is in nakshatra of Moon Hasta, which gives lots of capabilities as a writer, painter, pottery, other creative aspects.
••Venus is in Pushkar Navamsha
••Venus is in own sign Taurus in 5th house of Hobby in D9.
••Yoga Karak Venus making Neecha Bhanga Raaj Yoga.
••Yoga Karak Venus too aspecting the 2nd house of financial trine, hence earning through these source of inborn talent, hobby, entertainment.

Why Shahensha of Bollywood : No matter which Dasha bhukti goes on his 8th house gets activated, which is not very good phenomenon to have a healthy and successful life. When max planet in 8th house we all know it gives hell of a struggling life. If we look at Amitabh Bachchan’s life then there were hardly any struggle in his earlier days compared to other actors.
••Total 4 planets are in 8h house but the dispositor of all 4 planets Mercury is exalted.
••Dispositor of all these planets Mercury is in very auspicious Nakshatra Chitra, whose lord Mars is 10th house lord in Amitabh’s chart.
••2nd and 11th lord Juptier is Exalted, in Pushkar Navamsha also aspecting own house Pisces 2nd house making finance house more strong.
••There is an exchange between the sign of exaltation of Saturn and Moon for 4th and 9th houses – making more property, wealth, vehicle, happiness, comfort, Luxury at home.
••Finance house Lord Jupiter is Vargottami too having highest point in Dashavargta table.
••Saturn is his Yogi planet, so during the Mahadasha of Saturn,he had his first popularity and success through the film Zanjeer. Before Zanjeer he had 12 flops one by one.
••His 6th house of service, day today work has maximum point 42 in Ashtak Varga table, so he never gave up no matter what, he just kept on working.
••Indu Lagna is in 4th house Taurus, so ever since Saturn Mahadasha activated his 4th house of Indu Lagna, he didnt have to look back in life, Name, Fame, wealth, Stardom all. You just name it, and he has it all.
••When he first came to Mumbai for acting he didnt have to spend months in hunger, running behind door to door of producers, He had a request letter from Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in his pocket, after all PM Indira Gandhi was his mother’s good friend. Thats where 8th house acts ! without doing much hard work u get something in life just by nomination or via communication.

Health :
••During his Saturn- Sun period he had major injury on the set of film Coolie. Sun is a maraka also in Mrityu Bhaga sitting in 8th house of death so that ended up giving him lots of other infection during that phase.Rahu was in his 6th house of disease in transit during that time.
••When ever Sun or Moon Dasha bhukti comes in his life, that period gives him huge set back whether its financially or health wise (which eventually causes loss of finance too), as Sun is in Mrityu Bhag, and Moon is Avyogi in his chart.
••Amitabh Bachchan got neuromuscular dysfunction after Coolie accident, as I mentioned Sun is the culprit here
being the significator of brain.
••His ABCL company had 90Crore debt when he was going through Merc-Sun/Merc-Moon period.

Future Prediction :
••Right now Big B is going through yoga karak Mahadasha Venus, so when he will be going through Ven-Ven period till March 2016, he will be honoured with several awards. After all This Venus is activating his Neechbhanga Raaj Yoga.
•• Entire 2016 will be his year of success, and breaking his own past record.
••From Oct 2017 to Oct 2018 going to be hard period for Mr. Bachchan again as Maraka Sun period will start, more over Saturn being his Ascendant lord will be crossing gandant degrees during early of 2017. so lots of health issues, will be there.More over during that that Rahu Ketu in transit will be opposite to his Rahu-Ketu in 1-7 axis.
•• His upcoming film is Wazir is going to be one of the top rated film in his career in terms of his acting.
••He will be working more and more in coming days after all his D10 Ashtak Varga chart is having stronger 10th house than D1 AV chart.

Interesting Facts on Amitabh Bachchan :
••As Rahu Ketu is in 1-7 axis with 5th 3rd and 8th lord conjunction in 8th house, we all know about his epic romance stories with several acresses.
••When Rahu-Ketu is in 1-7 axis it never gives long time bond/friendship with any one, they love to be alone. No wonder Jaya Bachchan is often heard saying, “Amitji is a loner!”
••His 3rd lord Mars is in Nakshatra of Hasta – which means work related to Hands – 3rd is the house for writing skill and Amitabh Bachchan can write well with both of his hands.
••His 1,2,4,9, 10 and 11 have total 174 points thats not making be surprise why Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has 11 cars, including one Rolls Royce, Bentley, and three Mercedes.
••His Exalted Juptier gave him great memory , he remembers birthdates or special occasions of all his near dear ones and never forget to wish them on time.
••I just love this Angry Young Man, after all we share one similarity in charts – Exalted Jupiter.

——————————————————————————————What Men & Women Want ?

The concept of Marriage changes from country to country and from generations to generations. Marriage or relationships is for personal development of humans and on the spiritual level it is one of the most important tools for progressing through ones karma and the purpose of life for many which is not understood by many a young spiritual adepts. On mundane level it becomes a very essential and significant part of man for his achieving higher goals of life. Marriage brings you to a fuller you and completes you. To encapsulate it simplistically marriage helps in the development of the following areas.

  1. Physical Development
  2. Intellectual Development
  3. Emotional Development

These above 3 factors are part of the system of life. The Guna Milap system does not work in real practice though it is widely used in India and now by TV channels and matrimonial websites to attract the uneducated in astrology. Unfortunately even the most advanced astrologer has not statistically tested the Guna Milap system and documented it but keeps on teaching it and it has been passed on over the years from guru to sishya. Here in this article we would try to see some special points that look very ordinary but serves as a stunning tool in matching horoscopes for marriage or relationships and most importantly helps in understanding ‘What Men & Women Want’ in reality. Mostly we would try to concentrate on those aspects by which relationships can be improved between couples in understanding each other by delving deeper into What Men want and What Women Want.

Men Are From Mars & Venus

For Men – Venus decides whom he is ‘Attracted’ to and Mars decides how he will behave with his women.

  1. In male’s horoscope Venus will determine the qualities of his wife and the choice of the wife he wants. Suppose Venus is of Pisces, he will like his wife/woman to be artistic. If in male horoscope if Venus is well placed but Mars associates with Taurus or Libra then there would be difference of ideologies in sexual life. E.g: Mahatma Gandhi had Mars in Libra.
  2. Prithi (Earth) Tatva (Element) Venus in male horoscope then male would have in his mind/subconscious mind that he gets a wife from whom he benefits financially and status wise.
  3. Agni (Fire) Tatva (Element) Venus in male horoscopes then male will be attracted towards those women who are of dominating /independent nature. He will like women who like fast life and take responsibility.
  4. Vayu (Air) Tatva Venus in male horoscopes, then male will be attracted towards intelligent women who are linguistic, literary oriented, looks could be of secondary importance but first choice will be brains.
  5. Jal (Water) Tatva Venus in male horoscopes, then male requires a woman who will support him emotionally, understand his emotions. He needs her to listen to his feeling and understand him, this is of primary importance to him otherwise he becomes like most men saying ‘she does not understand me’.
  6. Suppose Venus in Jal Tatva and Mars in Jal Tatva in chart of males, these males can become eccentrics in personal life/ psychos. It’s a double whammy of Jal Tatava hence the above results.
  7. Suppose man has Venus in Jal Tatva and Mars in Vayu Tatva, these men will never completely surrender to wife since Mars is in an airy sign and his connection will happen to her on intellectual level first.
  8. Venus in Jal Tatva and Mars in Prithvi (Earth) Tatva in males chart, then he will utilize his women for creating and expanding his identity/status. Many a times you find in modern society that men marry women to flaunt them/their beauty – something like a status symbol. If this combination is found in charts of males, then it is found that 5H is stronger or children will do better than father in life.

Women Are From Sun & Moon

The way Sun is placed in a chart, that way she will have ‘Expectations’ of her husband and the way her Moon is placed that way she will ‘Behave’ with her husband/life partner.

  1. Marriage means taking the responsibility of the other partner atleast for one of them. Hence when responsibility comes in the picture then Sun is the planet of responsibility. In woman’s horoscope see the planet Sun and you would find husbands qualities matching the placements/sign of the sign. For e.g. if Sun is in Leo in the girls horoscope then you would find the husbands qualities matching that of Leo and so on.
  2. Suppose Sun is in Leo which is an Agni Tatva and Moon is in Aries another Agni Tatva, so what she likes, that way only she will behave with her husband. She will like dominating husband (Sun in Agni Tatva – Leo) and in return she will behave in dominating manner with her husband (Moon in Agni Tatva – Aries). But this combo of two similar tatvas of the same element becomes a problem for her, if husband does not dominate she won’t like it but she also has to dominate. Both of them cannot stay without each other – this is a common syndrome that is found. She will want her partner to admit his love for her in front of everyone (moon in agni tatva).
  3. Sun is in Agni Tatva and Moon is in Jala Tatva, then she expects from her husband dominating independent nature and she will behave in emotional manner with him (moon in jala tatva). If he takes her to romantic islands or near water then she becomes very romantic towards him. She would want her to-be partner to propose to her in private (Moon in jala tatva).
  4. Sun in Agni Tatva and Moon in Vayu Tatva, then she will treat her husband very nicely. In this combination there is less opportunity for divorces and she knows the likes/dislikes of her husband and will also be adept in removing her work out of the husband. She will keep her ego and personality intact and still remove her work out of the husband and it is only when she wants divorce it can happen not when the man wants.
  5. Sun in Agni Tatva and Moon in Prithvi Tatva, her behavior towards her husband /partner will be of possessiveness. She will be an excellent cook or will take good care of him food wise and also in bed (Prithvi Tatva). Why so since her Moon is in Prithvi Tatva, so she will behave that way. She will not like any interference of anyone in her personal life. Mother in law, father in law or any relatives should not interfere in her relationship with her husband, this is very important in Indian context where still singular families are maintained and every mother in law goes to an astrologer to find out if her would be daughter in law will adjust to the family.

Disturbance In Relationships – Saturn

  1. The planet of disturbance is Saturn in marriage, then 12th lord and Rahu. Rahu can make life miserable and Saturn has ability to make curd out of milk thereby removing the luster out of marriage.
  2. Suppose Sun is in Aries for women and Saturn of male is in Aries, then there will be no harmony in marriage. Basically the rule is any type of relation sign wise or aspect wise between Sun of female and Saturn of male then it will create big problem in marriage life. The male will normally not respect the female in such a circumstance. It can also create a form of mechanical relationship that is often found in Indian marriages. The golden rule is to apply these rules in Natural Zodiac charts of both individuals that by taking Aries as ascendant.
  3. If female’s Saturn aspects/associates with the Sun in males chart then there is no respect in relationship and can create disharmony. Respect among couples is the most important thing in a marriage and often forms as a strong pillar in sustaining marriage. Care should be taken that this aspect should be seen in Natural horoscope of both (Aries Asc).
  4. Any trinal relation between Jupiter and Sun of both couples (in natural horoscope) then there will always be respect. Suppose Sun of female is in Libra debilitated and males Jupiter in Ge, Li, Aq then woman will respect her husband.

Denial And/Or Delayed

Male Charts

  1. If in 8H there is Jupiter in chara (moveable) sign then delay in marriage. See 7L where he sits & if there is Jupiter of Chara Rasi (Ar, Cn, Li, Cp) in its 12H from it then also delay in marriage (this is common for both charts).
  2. Wherever Venus is placed, if in 2nd house from it there is Jupiter in Chara(movable) Rasi then also delay in marriage or sometimes create major problems in marriage life. Sometimes due to over smartness of the male there can be problems in marriage life.
  3. The Sublord of the cusp of 7H, deposited in the 6H, is the main cause of the delay in marriage. This principle is common in both horoscopes of males and females.
  4. 7H cusp sub lord whenever it is in the 12H from Ven in male charts then it will create problems in sexual matching; it will take time to match between couples – meaning for each to get adjusted to others sexual desires and wants it would take time.
  5. 7H cusp sub lord whenever it is in the 12H from Mars in male charts then due to environment circumstances there will be separation between couples. E.g. after marriage man who has job abroad has to leave his wife in homeland.

Female Charts

  1. Suppose Sun is in Pisces and Jupiter is of Aries, then the kind of person she wants either she will get late or never.
  2. 2nd from Moon if there is Jupiter of Chara Rasi, then due to her behavior there can denial or delay of marriage due to over smartness from her end. She might spend her life thinking too big of herself or of her beauty or money and thereby good matches will go away.
  3. The Sublord of the cusp of 7H, deposited in the 6H, is the main cause of the delay in marriage. This principle is common in both horoscopes of males and females.
  4. 7H cusp sub lord whenever it is in the 12H from Sun in female charts then it will create problems in marriage life.

Special Points In Relationships

  1. 7th lord of Rasi, if placed in the 8H sign of Rasi chart IN the Navamsa(D9) then problems happen in marriage. E.g. If 7H of Rasi is Sagittarius and 8H sign is Capricorn, then if 7L of Rasi which is Jupiter if it is placed in Capricorn Navamsa then problems come in marriage.
  2. If one partners Moon is in a sign and if opposite partners Rahu is in that same sign then it creates yoga for powerful magnetic attraction between couples.
  3. If Moon of one partner is in a particular sign and opposite partners Venus is in that sign then there is a kind of karmic attraction between the couple
  4. If in woman’s chart there is Sun and Saturn opposition or conjunction and if Sun in males chart forms association with this Saturn then after marriage career of man collapses or gets spoilt or changes E.g. Sun Saturn in females chart is in Aries and mans Sun is in Gemini or Libra or Capricorn whereby Saturn of females chart aspects the man’s Sun then this happens.
  5. If in woman’s chart Sun and Saturn opposition or conjunction is there and if Sun in males chart forms association with this Saturn then after marriage there will be major problems after 5 yrs, 19 yrs or 38 years. In case the sun of males chart is not aspected by Saturn of females chart then still there will be problems at above mentioned years but of reduced intensity.
  6. Platonic Love: Neptune and Venus relations give platonic love and attraction. They are always related to ether body. If the association between the planets is degreecal then the result is 100 % regarding Platonic love and it also gives ESP powers.
  7. Mars in a sign of one partner and Venus of other partner in same or opposite sign gives strong physical attraction. It can be even Mars 8th aspect on Venus of other partner to give such physical attraction.
  8. In females chart suppose Venus in a sign and in males chart Saturn touches/aspects this Venus or vice-versa then there is sexual life complications in their life. This we have seen working consistently especially if this kind of Venus-Saturn relationship is happening vice-versa.
  9. Saturn and Mars having relationship within one horoscope or Saturn of one horoscope aspecting Mars of opposite partner then due to workaholic nature of either partner there is complications in relationship.
  10. If 7th lord is in the 10H then the individual does not accept his spouse/partner as a friend. There can be good bed room relations due to other combinations/yogas but he/she does not treat the other person as a friend.
  11. The combination of dasa patterns of Asc, 6th and 10th sometimes give separation e.g. MD/PD/AD sequence in any order for an Aries Asc of Mars/Mer/Sat gives divorce or separation.————

The Astrology of Astrologers.

Uranus, Aquarius and/or the 11th house would be thematically linked to the vocational indicators in the charts of astrologersHere are just a few of the interesting things found in the charts of the 100 astrologers tested:

  • 38% had the Sun in Scorpio, Sagittarius or Capricorn and these placements were found in the astrologers charts twice as often as they were found in the control group.
  • Sun, Moon or Mercury was found in a fixed house for 70% of astrologers and Venus, Mars, Jupiter or Saturn were placed in an air house for 71%.
  • Sixty-three percent of the astrologers had the ruler of the eleventh house direct.
  • None of the astrologers tested had a mutual reception between Sun and Uranus.
  • Pluto, Chiron or the North Node was placed in one of the Gauquelin power zones in 66%.
  • Uranus was found aspecting the vertex in the control group more often than it was found aspecting the vertex in the astrologers’ horoscopes.
  • Nothing was found in 100% of the astrologers’ charts.

The Vedic AstroSignature

Abstract

AstroDatabank’s release 4.0 with its factor analysis module was used to develop an AstroSignature for Astrologers from the Vedic perspective. The chart dynamics of an experimental group of 100 professional astrologers (the same group of astrologers used to develop the Western signature) were compared those of a control group of 1000 generated by the AstroDatabank software. Included in the signature are only those factors found in at least 20% of the experimental group and demonstrating a positive difference frequency of 50% or greater when compared to the control group.

Introduction

After developing the signature for astrologers from the Western perspective (http://http://www.astrodatabank.com/as/ASAstrologyOfAstrologers.htm) using the tropical zodiac, I felt it would be informative to develop a signature from the Vedic perspective using the sidereal zodiac. I was curious if one would work better than the other.

A literature review of Vedic texts was conducted to identify what has been asserted to be found in astrologers’ charts. For the most part however, this might be termed assumption less research. I allowed the factor analysis reports to tell me what was found with significantly greater frequency in the charts of the astrologers as compared to the charts of the control group. It was the astrological factors that showed up in the charts of at least 20% of the astrologers and at frequencies 50% or greater than they were found in the control group that were included in Vedic signature for astrologers presented here.

Following is a list of the factors evaluated for this project using the AstroDatabank 4.0 software:

  • Moon through Saturn, Ascendant, MC, house rulers and planetary dispositors in signs and houses.
  • Moon through Saturn, Ascendant, MC, House rulers and planetary dispositors in their placements by degree.
  • Benefics and malefics by house placement and rulership.
  • Placements in friendly, neutral or enemy signs.
  • The Vedic full and special aspects [1].
  • Placements in the lunar mansions or Nakshatras [2].
  • Essential and accidental dignities.

Methodology

The source of the data used in this project was supplied by AstroDatabank. Its release 4.0 contains the birth data for zzzz astrologers with a Rodden rating of “A” or above. From this group, 100 astrologers were hand selected for this research project. The astrologers selected have either contributed to the general advancement of astrology in some manner and/or make their living practicing astrology. Therefore, the experimental group for this study is composed of 100 successful astrological authors, organizational leaders, teachers, lecturers and/or consultants.

A control group of 1000 records was created using AstroDatabank’s control group generator. While the control group generated by AstroDatabank does not represent birth charts of real people (and therefore might generate a chart perfect for an aspiring astrologer), the greatest advantage of this control group is it helps us quickly identify what astrological factors occur more frequently than by chance in the charts of astrologers as compared to a group of charts ten times greater than the number of records in the experimental group. In creating the control group, the   year, time and place were replicated while shuffling the data independently.

The Sidereal Zodiac, Lahiri Ayanamsa [3] and the Whole House System were used to calculate each horoscope.

The factor analysis feature in AstroDatabank 4.0 was used to assist identification of the significant single factors that could be combined to build one multifactor AstroSignature rule. Those signature rules that included factors found in at least z0 % of the astrologers’ charts and at frequencies z5% or greater than they were found in the control group were included in the AstroSignature.

Results & Discussion

I reviewed Vedic texts to identify some of the yogas asserted to be found in the natal charts of astrologers. In essence, the yogas are analogous to the AstroSignature because both refer to specific chart dynamics that define specific orientations or conditions-such as the inclination to earn a living as an astrologer. Additionally, Juliana Swanson, an astrologer in Massachusetts, was kind enough to email me some unique yogas asserted by Vinay Aditya in his book, Dots of Destiny: Applications of Ashtakavarga [4]. Vedic astrologers use several different systems to determine planetary and/or house strength because it is a critical consideration in chart delineation. Ashtakavarga is one such system that evaluates strength by using a complex system of assigning points called bindus.

Following is an example of one of the passages Juliana quoted from Aditya’s text (pp. 69-70)

If Mercury is 4th or 6th from Saturn, associated with 5 or more bindus and the ind house from the lagna (ascendant) is aspected or occupied by ]upiter, the native becomes an eminent astrologer. There may be exceptions, for example, if Mercury is in its exalted sign, it may have less bindus.

The ADB software does not include a system for scoring strengths as one of its features, so I was unable to test this assertion. Nor was I able to test any of the yogas that referred to placements in houses derived other than from the Ascendant (such as stated above: Mercury is 4 or 6 houses from Saturn or in the case of placements referenced from the Moon’s–which are quite common in the Vedic discipline). Additionally, I did not test yogas that referenced the navamsa chart (the ninth harmonic chart).

I was able to evaluate other assertions. For example, Juliana sent me another quote from Vinay Aditya that guided my investigation (just as Uranus and the ruler of the 11th were closely examined while analyzing the tropical data). It is:

In Vedic astrology, Mercury is the planet of astrology, along with ]upiter, due to their rulership of intellectual reasoning, intelligence, speech, computation and knowledge of scriptures[5].

Similarly, James Braha asserts that it is common for the greatest Hindu astrologers to have been born with a powerfully disposed Moon (memory) and 2nd house (knowledge) [6].

Based on the above information, we’d expect Mercury Jupiter, Moon and the 2nd house to be strong. It was difficult to determine the overall strength of the second house. What was evaluated in this study were placements in the 2nd house, the placement of the ruler of the 2nd house and aspects to and from ruler of the 2nd house. The only factor found in at least 20% the charts of the astrologers and more frequently than it was found in the control group was Jupiter or the ruler of the 9th house in the 2nd (1% of the astrologers versus 16% of the control group).

Another common technique used by Vedic astrologers to evaluate planetary strength is called Shad Bala. Like Ashtakavarga it is a complex system that evaluates planetary strength. Shad Bala is based on six criteria: natural strength, motion, position, aspect, direction and time. Evaluation of the positional strength of a planet includes analysis of its dignity by sign. In this study, Moon, Mercury and Jupiter were analyzed for placement in their rulership, exaltation, fall and moolatrikona sign and degree [7]. The following table displays the totals derived from this analysis.

Moon in Cancer 10% 9%
Moon in Taurus 14% 8%
Moon exalted deg. (3 Tau) 3% 4%
Moon in moolatrikona deg. 1z% 7%
Moon in Scorpio 5% 8%
Mercury in Gem 8% 8%
Mercury in Virgo 6% 8%
Merc in moolatrikona deg. 0% 1.8%

Mercury in Pisces                                                                                                 7%                               9%

Jupiter in Sagittarius 1z% 10%
Jupiter in Pisces 4% 6%
Jupiter in Cancer 9% 8%
Jupiter moolatrikona deg. 4% 4%
Jupiter in Capricorn 9% 9%

*None of the 100 astrologer had Mercury or Jupiter at their degree of exaltation (Mercury is exalted at 15 degrees Virgo and Jupiter is exalted at 5 degrees Cancer).

Moon in Cancer 10% 9%
Moon in Taurus 14% 8%
Moon exalted deg. (3 Tau) 3% 4%
Moon in moolatrikona deg. 1z% 7%
Moon in Scorpio 5% 8%
Mercury in Gem 8% 8%
Mercury in Virgo 6% 8%
Merc in moolatrikona deg. 0% 1.8%

Mercury in Pisces                                                                                                7%                                 9%

Jupiter in Sagittarius 1z% 10%
Jupiter in Pisces 4% 6%
Jupiter in Cancer 9% 8%
Jupiter moolatrikona deg. 4% 4%
Jupiter in Capricorn 9% 9%

As the table shows, having the Moon in Taurus is found significantly more often in the astrologers charts and this is included in the Vedic signature along with Moon in Aquarius, the only other sign where the Moon demonstrated significance by placement. Mercury did not demonstrate significance by dignity but it did demonstrate significance in sidereal Libra, Scorpio and Capricorn. Jupiter demonstrated no significant difference with its placement by sign. While 1z% of the astrologers had Jupiter dignified in Sagittarius as compared to 9.5% of the control group, this was not a large enough difference to establish statistical significance. Therefore, it would be salient to investigate further to determine if Mercury and/or Jupiter demonstrate significance using the Ashtakavarga or Shad Bala systems to determine their strength in both the natal and navamsa charts.

Additionally, to determine the quality of a planet’s influence (whether it is a benefic or malefic influence in the natal chart) involves an evaluation of the house or houses it rules. The rules governing this evaluation must take into consideration that both Jupiter and Mercury are able to rule two houses and one might be a benefic house and the other a malefic house. In general though, any planet ruling the 1st, 5th, or 9th house is considered a beneficial influence in the chart and that can be determined quite simply by rising sign. For example, the Moon rules house 1, 5, or 9 when one of the water signs is rising and would be treated as a benefic in the natal horoscope. Mercury is a benefic for Taurus (rules 5th), Gemini (rules 1st), Virgo (rules 1st), Libra (rules 9th), Capricorn (rules 9th) and Aquarius (rules 5th) Ascendants. Jupiter is beneficial for Aries, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces rising. The table below shows the result of determining whether Moon, Mercury and Jupiter carry a beneficial influence more often in the charts of astrologers than they do in the control group. Since none of the rising signs demonstrated significance on their own, I treated the rising signs in groups for this analysis.

Moon benefic-Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces rising z9% z6%
Mercury benefic-Taurus, Gem, Virgo, Libra, Cap, AQ rising 47% 53%

Jupiter benefic-Aries, Leo, Cancer, Scorpio, Sag or Pisces rising                                         54%                  48%

Note that both Moon and Jupiter are beneficial for individuals with Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces rising and Jupiter is also a benefic for Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius rising and having any one of these six signs rising does occur more frequently in the charts of the astrologers.

Additionally, the review of yogas uncovered a few other assertions I felt were pertinent to the practice of astrology. All of the following were taken from James Braha’s text [8].

  • The 12th lord in the 3rd house gives enormous intuition. Astrologers 6%–Control 8.4%
  • In Hindu mythology Mercury is the son of the Moon. Both planets are mental influences and therefore whenever they aspect each other in any way an extreme intellectual nature is conferred. (This was tested this using the mutual or full aspect (conjunction and opposition with no orb of influence): Astrologers 22% –Control 15.5%.
  • Mercury in a sign of Mars or Mars in a sign of Mercury is said to be good for intelligence.

Astrologers 27%–Control 30% (Additionally, I tested for a mutual reception between Mercury and Mars, and z% of the astrologers has such while 3.4% of the control group did.)

  • If Mars and Saturn aspect each other, the person excels in any technical field. (This was tested using the special aspects Saturn and Mars are able to make and evaluated separately, i.e. Mars in aspect to Saturn and Saturn in aspect to Mars) Mars in aspect to Saturn: Astrologers 30%–Control Group 31.3%. Saturn in aspect to Mars: 23% versus 27.8%
  • The lord of the 10th house conjunct with or aspected by Mars gives a career involving …any technical field [9]. Astrologers 24%–Control 25.4%
  • Venus aspected by ]upiter indicates excellent research ability. Astrologers 38%-Control 33.2%.

The AstroSignature

The Vedic signature for astrologers includes 30 rules and is presented in Table 1. The tropical signature contained 40 rules and therefore the scores on that signature are higher than the scores earned on this Vedic signature. This difference is primarily a result of a reduction in the number of rules referring to aspects because there were many more aspects to consider from the tropical perspective.

The average score earned by the astrologers on the Vedic AstroSignature was 9. The average score achieved by the control group was 5.3. Therefore, the astrologers scored on average 70% higher than did the control group (9-5.3)/5.3 e 69.8%). The astrologer scores ranged from 1-19 and 17% of the astrologers scored 5 or below (the average score for the control group.) The control group scores ranged from 0-15 and only 8% of the control group scored 9 or above (the average score of the astrologers).

AstroSignature Legend:

DeDispositor: Reruler: HeHouse: NeNakshatra

1) Rule 4 references Sun and ruler of the 9th in Detriment which in Vedic astrology is the same as the sign of their fall in Western astrology.

2) A full aspect signifies that the planets are either in the same sign/house or the opposite sign/house.

3) References to specific aspects (such as the sextile, trine, square, etc) involve full signs-there is no orb of influence.

4) Rule 13 references Sun and Jupiter nakshatras.

5) Rule 14 references Jupiter and Rahu’s (north node) nakshatras,

6) Rules 17 and 18 reference degrees in any sign.

Summary

When we compare the two signatures, the Vedic signature demonstrates a slightly greater difference in average signature score (69.8%) than did the tropical signature (63.6%). However, the tropical signature did a better job of distinguishing the experimental group from the control group. With the tropical signature, only 8% of the control group scored the average astrologer signature score or above (a score of 18+) while 12.z% of the Vedic control group scored the average astrologer signature score or above (a score of 9+). Similarly, 17% of the astrologers scored the average control group score or below using the Vedic signature while only 3% of the astrologers scored below or equal to the average control group score using the tropical signature.

And, as one more tidbit of food for your mind to digest, consider this: some of the astrologers scoring highest on this Vedic signature scored at the lo wer end of the tropical signature and vice versa. This realization led me to consider if a composite average might be a useful measure for those aspiring astrologers scoring below the average on either of the signatures. That is, the average signature score for both the Vedic and Tropical signatures could be added together and then divided by two to compute a composite average signature score. For example, the average signature score for the tropical signature was 18. Add to that the average score of 9 earned on the Vedic signature and the total is 27. We divide that by two to get an average composite signature score of 13.5 for the astrologers. That is, an individual’s score on both signatures could be added together in this way to derive an individual composite score and if it is 13.5 or above we could deduce that individual resonates strongly with others in the astrological community.

[1] The aspects are evaluated differently in the Vedic discipline then they are in Western tradition. First, aspects exist within the 30 degrees of the whole sign-there is no orb of influence. Additionally, not all aspects are mutual. Planets are considered to be in mutual or “full aspect” if they reside in the same sign/house or the opposite sign/house. Only Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are able to make additional aspects: Mars also aspects the 4th and 8th sign/house from itself, Jupiter is able to aspect the 5th and 9th sign/house from itself and Saturn can cast aspects to the 3rd and 10th sign/house from itself. Some Vedic practitioners also allow the north and south node (Rahu and Ketu) to aspect the 5th and 9th sign/house from their placement. These were the only aspects analyzed in this project.

[2] The lunar mansions or nakshatras are another critical facet of Vedic chart analysis and the nakshatras pro vide the basis for the dasa and bhukti system of prediction. The 27 nakshatras represent the division of the zodiac into three groups of nine sections of 13 degrees, 20 minutes each. Placements by nakshatra were included in this investigation.

[3] The ayanamsa represents the longitudinal difference in degrees between zero degree Aries in the sidereal zodiac and zero degrees Aries in the tropical zodiac. There is a wide variety of different ayanamsa’s used by Vedic astrologers because there is disagreement about when the vernal equinox coincided with zero degrees Aries. The Lahiri ayanamsa is one of the commonly used ayanamsas.
